The high-country run to Suches on GA-60 is the North Georgia ride every rider makes at least once a season. Cooler mountain air, real curves, and a biker stop at the top. Go early to beat the afternoon storms.
Afternoon thunderstorms build fast over the North Georgia mountains in summer, and the first ten minutes of rain are the most dangerous. Gravel also collects on the inside of corners on 180 and 348. Scan ahead, slow early, and leave room.
